New Hope of Glory Pentecostal Church started as a Bible study by Rev. Patrick Noah Miller, III. He started it as one of the schools in his neighborhood. He and his family lived in an affluent neighborhood, so many of the people who attended the Bible study were wealthy and influential people in the city. The Bible study began to grow. In March of 1988, New Hope Ministries was formed. One focus of the ministry was spiritual growth. The other focus of the ministry was personal growth. Rev. Miller focused on the spiritual growth, while Sis. Miller was active with the personal growth. The spiritual growth included Bible studies, prayer services, and weekly fellowship dinners. The personal growth included education, financial help, business help, and medical help. By the end of 1988, New Hope Ministries had grown large enough that it needed its own building. Rev. Miller and his wife began fasting and praying about what to do. They had their answer when one of their member's uncle offered to sell them a building. In 1989, New Hope of Glory Pentecostal Church was born. It has grown over the years. In 1990, Pastor Miller and his wife started a fellowship with three newly formed churches in the urban areas of Morgantown, Restoration Fellowship Church, Christ is the Way Pentecostal Church, and Christ First Pentecostal Church. These churches were given personnel support as well as monetary support so that they could grow. Over the years, these 3 churches have sponsored other churches, causing the New Hope Fellowship of Churches to grow to be home to 33 churches. All of the churches have pledged to help other churches. All of the churches are members of the Greater Buelahland Fellowship. The beginning of the millennium sparked a great deal of change for Pastor Miller and the New Hope of Glory church. Pastor Miller was voted as the leader of the Gilleada Headquarters location of the Greater Buelahland Fellowship. New Hope of Glory Pentecostal Church was named as the headquarters.
